Description
The new geopolitical and energy market reality requires us to accelerate drastically the clean energy transition and increase Europe's energy independence from unreliable suppliers and volatile fossil fuels. Phasing out our dependence on fossil fuels from Russia can be done well before 2030. To do so, the Commission proposes to develop a REPowerEU plan that will increase the resilience of the EU-wide energy system.
This event is a great opportunity for EC policy makers and relevant stakeholders from the public and private energy sector to discuss REPowering Malta to ensure energy affordability, security of supply and sustainability. Its main objective is to steer an open and constructive dialogue among participants in order to get your feedback on the adopted and upcoming legislative initiatives, but also to address your considerations.
Ms Catharina Sikow- Magny, Director for Green Transition and Energy System Integration, and Mr Gonzalo Fernandez Costa, expert in Energy Security and Safety at the European Commission, will lead the discussion and be ready to reply to your questions.
