The Press Team
The Press Office responds directly to a wide range of press and media enquiries on EU issues. In addition, it actively promotes media coverage of the EU by initiating regular contacts with the media and publishing press releases on current EU topics of interest to a Maltese audience. It also organises information and communication events and represents the Commission at press conferences in Malta.
The Press Office also manages the Representation's website as well as its Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube pages.

European Commission spokesperson's service
The spokesperson's service (SPP) operates under the political authority of the President of the Commission and in cooperation with national representations of the European Commission. It is responsible for issuing press releases, organising press conferences and dealing with press queries. The spokespersons are responsible for specific Commission policy areas.

Media Accreditation - Journalists, photographers and TV crews need accreditation to enter the European Commission, European Parliament and European Council press zones.
Audiovisual service
The European Commission's audiovisual service provides a range of free services and materials to journalists including:
- Europe by Satellite - (EbS) is the European Union's TV information service. It provides EU-related audiovisual material via satellite to media professionals. The programming consists of a mix of live events, news items, stockshots on EU policies and issues.
