The recommendations are based on data collected by EMA & HERA on estimated demand and supply of a number of key antibiotics used to treat respiratory infections (amoxicillin, amoxicillin/clavulanic acid, penicillin V, azithromycin, clarithromycin, ceftriaxone, cefotaxime and piperacillin-tazobactam.

Today's package includes a Communication examining the situation in the EU as a whole and 27 country chapters looking at significant developments in every Member State since July 2022.

The Commission welcomes the political agreement reached yesterday between the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union on the Regulation on establishing the instrument for the reinforcement of the European defence industry through common procurement with a budget of €300 million.

Under EU passenger rights, airlines cancelling a flight are required to refund tickets within seven days once the passenger has opted to have the flight reimbursed. However, airline tickets can also be bought through an intermediary (an ‘online travel agency').

The new rules will provide national authorities with a reliable channel to obtain e-evidence, while establishing strong safeguards to ensure a high level of protection of the rights of the persons affected.

The plan is now worth €328 million in grants (up from €316.4 million) and covers 31 reforms and 16 investments.
