How can the Maltese language be used in a more inclusive way? Is what we write accessible to all?Are we, unwittingly, excluding groups of people in the way we write and present our material? How can we create material that can be understood and enjoyed by more people? 

The European Commission welcomes the provisional political agreement reached between the European Parliament and the Council today on new EU rules to protect those targeted with strategic lawsuits against public participation (SLAPP).

The conference will feature local and international experts who will discuss ways in which language can be a vehicle for inclusion and equality.

The Autumn package draws on the Autumn 2023 Economic Forecast which showed that the EU economy continues to be resilient in the face of the multiple shocks endured in recent years.

In its regular package of infringement decisions, the European Commission pursues legal action against Member States for failing to comply with their obligations under EU law.

This forecast is based on a set of technical assumptions concerning exchange rates, interest rates and commodity prices with a cut-off date of 25 October.

The political agreement reached by the European Parliament and the Council is now subject to formal approval by the co-legislators. The Commission will work to support early compliance, including in the framework of the Code of Practice on Disinformation.

The Special Eurobarometer (533) was conducted between 2 and 26 March 2023. A total of 26,376 respondents, from the 27 EU Member States and from different social and demographic groups, were interviewed.
