- How can Maltese be written in a more inclusive way?
- Is what we’re writing accessible to everyone?
- Are we, unwittingly, doing a disservice to certain groups of people through what we write and the way we present it?
Join us for this conference in which we will be exploring these themes and more thanks to worldwide experts and professionals on the topic, through presentations and hands-on workshops.
Presenters: Prof. Jorge Díaz-Cintas (CenTraS, UCL), Dr Giselle Spiteri Miggiani (Department of Translation, Terminology and Interpreting Studies, UM), Romario Sciberras (Dipartiment tal-Malti, UM). European Commissioner for Equality Dr Helena Dalli will open the conference. More details available in the bilingual agenda.
The presentations will be streamed online, and there will be interpretation into English and Maltese sign language available onsite.
This activity is part of the Translating Europe Workshop series organised by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Translation, and is being organised in conjunction with the Maltese Department and the Department of Translation, Terminology and Interpreting Studies at the University of Malta.
